February 25 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm£8.50 - £10.50
Still from The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (R. Neame, 1969 – 20th century fox)
Come along to Glasgow Film Festival as they mark the centenary of the birth of beloved Scottish writer Dame Muriel Spark with a screening of the most celebrated film adaptation of her work. An Oscar-winning Maggie Smith gives one of the defining performances of her career as Jean Brodie, a headstrong, unconventional teacher at a private school in 1930s Edinburgh. Smith captures the haughty grandeur and vulnerability of a complex force of nature, who proves a dangerous influence on the impressionable minds of her beloved ‘gels’. A wonderful cast includes Gordon Jackson and Celia Johnson.
