Arts Schools Project

Muriel Spark was an influential figure in many areas: literature of course, but also fashion, illustration, cinema and pop culture. We have developed an engagement programme with Scottish arts schools that highlight these interesting pluri-disciplinary elements and invited Illustration, Design and Animation students to develop new work based/influenced by Dame Muriel’s work and/or life.

Participating schools include Edinburgh College of Art, Gray’s School of Art (Aberdeen) and Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design (Dundee).

The objective of this project is to offer the opportunity for students to create new work that will be promoted in the national centenary programme and displayed, with the collaboration of Muriel Spark 100 partners, outside the universities’ walls.
