‘A Dazzling Indictment’ by Sophie Rowan
Glasgow Women’s Library has been collecting Muriel Spark’s work since its inception in 1991. Glasgow School of Art Illustration students have been mining the collection to create new works inspired by her dark, humorous and lushly evocative works.
Twenty three Muriel Spark books have been explored in a series of 12” square letterpress and collograph prints and in a set of wraparound screen printed book jackets and will be on display at GWL showcasing the first collaboration of this kind between GWL and GSA.
We will celebrate the launch of Making Sparks on Thursday 24th May from 6pm to 7.30pm during our Summer Programme Launch. The exhibition continues until Thursday 5th July and you can visit during GWL opening hours.
